     REASONS FOR ORDER AND ORDER

NADON J.

[1]      In these three files, the parties received a notice of status review in accordance with rule 380 of this Court"s Rules .

[2]      In files T-678-95 and T-1918-96, the plaintiffs filed their written representations on February 2 and March 4, 1999. The defendant filed no written representations, preferring to leave it to the Court"s discretion.

[3]      In file T-1867-97, the notice under rule 380 was issued on June 24, 1999. The parties have filed no representations to date.

[4]      After hearing counsel for the parties, I have reached the conclusion that these proceedings should continue. As rule 382(2)(c) provides, they will do so as specially managed proceedings.

[5]      The three files covered by this order are part of a group of five files with files T-1076-98 and T-2246-98. The issues to be resolved are the same in all five files.

[6]      That is why Mr. Justice Dubé made an order on June 1, 1999, granting that the five files be consolidated and heard together.

[7]      Accordingly, my order under rule 382(2)(c) will also apply to files T-1076-98 and T-2246-98, which will also continue as specially managed proceedings. A copy of my order will be placed in each of the files concerned.
