OTTAWA, ONTARIO, MAY 16, 1997

PRESENT: TEITELBAUM J.

IN THE MATTER OF the Citizenship Act

            R.S.C. 1985, c. C-29

AND IN THE MATTER OF an appeal from the

            decision of a Citizenship Judge

AND IN THE MATTER OF

TAREK BEN MOHAMED AYARI,

Appellant

JUDGMENT AND REASONS FOR JUDGMENT

The hearing of this appeal commenced on February 10, 1997. Counsel for the appellant, after some discussion, requested an adjournment until May 14, 1997, on which date the appellant would satisfy the residency conditions enabling him to obtain his citizenship.

Since the appellant now satisfies the residency conditions established in the Citizenship Act, I am recommending to the Minister that the appellant be granted Canadian citizenship.
