EXCERPT OF PROCEEDINGS
THE COURT: Sir, could you come up here, please, and just stand with your Interpreter.
I just want to have you understand what I'm going to say, okay? And Mr. Interpreter, if you could -- just stand there, sir.
I have read the reports about your health and I understand that you have some disabilities. You have a memory problem and you find it difficult to learn. And I think what I should do, is accept you just the way you are.
So when you answered the questions that were given to you, I am perfectly satisfied you did the best you can. And I was quite impressed with your answers. I think you do know what it means to be a Canadian.
And I think that in considering what you said I have to consider you as a person. So for you in your situation I find that you have passed the knowledge test. And you should be granted Canadian Citizenship. So I'm going to allow this appeal and I'm going to overturn the order of the Citizenship Judge.
The Government will be told what I have done today and I believe what they will do is grant your citizenship.
