ASSESSMENT OF COSTS - REASONS
MICHELLE LAMY, ASSESSMENT OFFICER
[1] According to the Court of Appeal judgment allowing the present appeal with costs in both divisions of the Federal Court, appointments were issued for the assessment of costs on November 24, 2000.
[2] At the taxation, Mr. Francis Rouleau, counsel for the Appellants, informed me that the matter of costs has been settled. Mr. Harold W. Ashenmil, counsel for the Respondents, agreed to pay the sum of $10,000.00 in full payment of the costs in First Instance and in Appeal in the above-noted legal proceedings. Copy of a letter dated November 23, 2000, from Mr. Harold W. Ashenmil confirming this agreement is placed in file A-673-98.
[3] These reasons are issued in Court file A-673-98. A copy will be placed on the Court record T-1923-97 in the First Instance as well. A certificate in the amount of $10,000.00 is issued in file A-673-98.
